The late Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja (1901-1971), believed that philanthropy is both an obligation and an honourable reward of business.

The objectives of the Foundation's include supporting socially responsible institutions; working jointly with other institutions of repute and by supporting deserving NGOs working for similar objectives. The Hinduja Group companies have developed a symbiotic relationship with the Foundation and their financial and other backing is a source of support in fulfilling the dreams of the founder.
The objective of the Hinduja Foundation Sustainable Rural Development Project is to enhance the livelihood of the project participant communities through farm based interventions, development of model villages, enhanced health and sanitation facilities, water resource management, upgradation of educational facilities, empowerment of women and development of the village infrastructure.

Hinduja Foundation contributes regularly to upgrade medical equipment and quality of services, and has undertaken a number of Healthcare related projects and initiatives, including dispatching Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) that provide much needed healthcare facilities to remote rural areas.
The Foundation has supported a number of initiatives highlighting the everlasting progressive values of India. This includes the Foundation's Antiquity Collection consisting of a large number of coins of ancient India, paintings, bronze and stone sculptures, terracotta, wood carvings, textile, beads, photo archives and rare books.
