Water is the 'champion cause' across the Group for CSR activity.

India is undergoing the worst water crisis in its history. Already more than 600 million people are facing acute water shortage. When water is available, it is often contaminated, resulting in nearly 200,000 deaths due to water borne diseases every year. In the absence of change this crisis can only worsen. Estimates indicate that India’s water demand will exceed supply by a factor of 2 by 2030.

Initiatives include: Making Hinduja Group entities water neutral; Providing customized community purification units in rural locations including in rural schools; Rejuvenating community water sources in rural locations; Reusing waste water/reducing water leakages in urban Group entity locations; Planning for a best in class repository for water data and information, as a tool for decision makers to optimally employ water resources.
